BACH’S BEST

Thorsten Ahlrichs – organ

Johann Sebastian Bach is widely regarded as one of the greatest composers of the Baroque era. Nearly 300 years after his death, his music continues to inspire composers, performers, and audiences around the world. Many of his works have become timeless masterpieces that remain among the most beloved in the classical repertoire.

In this concert, Arctic Cathedral organist Thorsten Ahlrichs presents a selection of Bach’s finest organ music, revealing the remarkable breadth of the composer’s genius. The program portrays Bach in many roles: the brilliant organ virtuoso whose dazzling performances astonished his contemporaries; the accomplished violinist; the masterful arranger who transformed orchestral works into compelling keyboard pieces; and the dedicated teacher who challenged his students with music of extraordinary craftsmanship.
