Our concert series Cathedral of Light – International Summer Concerts opens with a special performance by the choir of St. John's Church in Malmö, Sweden. Currently on tour, they make a stop at the Arctic Cathedral to share a rich program of Swedish choral music, spanning from the Romantic era to contemporary works.
The audience will be taken on a musical journey: from the gentle whisper of a summer breeze, through a walk in the forest, to a serene evening prayer expressed in sound.
The Cathedral's organist, Thorsten Ahlrichs, will perform Fantasia Sommarpsalm by Walter Zielke, inspired by the beloved choral piece Sommarpsalm by Waldemar Åhlén—also featured in the choir's program under the direction of Christian Schultze.
The concert begins at 19:00 (7:00 PM).
Doors open at 18:30 (6:30 PM).
