The Guards Music is the 3rd Guards Company's music troop. They are once again ready to delight the audience with their fresh program, under the expert leadership of their conductor, Music Major Sverre Olsrud. The Guards Music actually consists of two corps; a symphonic Janissary ensemble, and a ceremonial signal corps with signal drums and horn players.
In addition to the Music and Drill Contingent's well-known assignments at home and abroad, the Guard Music holds many concerts throughout the year. They represent a long and rich military music culture, but also the modern and, not least, the distinctive military service. The repertoire is broad and spans several genres. The audience can expect both well-known Norwegian pieces, but also exciting music from several parts of the world. The Guard Music, and the conductors, are committed to entertaining and exciting their audience, and also choose to promote traditional music specially composed for the Janissary Corps and Signal Corps.
