Concert with Vokal Nord

"Autumn Light"

As the days get shorter and the air crisper, Vokal Nord invites you to its autumn concert – a musical meditation on the quiet transformations of the season. With falling leaves comes a deeper awareness of change, loss and longing – and the eternal search for warmth, light and care. Music by Cyrillus Kreek, Toivo Kuula and Johannes Brahms anchors the concert in romantic and sacred tradition, while contemporary voices such as Caroline Shaw and Karin Rehnqvist, with their raw and intimate expression, create space for reflection and presence.

A special highlight of the tour is the premiere of three Kven hymns, newly arranged for Vokal Nord by Anna Gallon. The hymns draw strength from the local cultural heritage and form a gentle bridge between past and present. Join us on a journey through the twilight – in search of comfort in the sound, and light in the shadows.

For the first time, you will also experience Vokal Nord in harmony with its newly started recruitment ensemble; An offer for singing students and other singers in the city who are curious about the ensemble's activities and the professional ensemble singing life!

Vokal Nord is Norway's northernmost professional chamber choir, and is considered one of the country's leading vocal ensembles. Since 1997, Vokal Nord has built its identity by combining classical choral sound with vocal use associated with ethnic music from the highlands.
